This said, while en route to the Quarry yesterday. Last year I scored this old door on one of our drives to the Quarry. The kids still talk about slouching down in their seats to make room for it!
The Quarry is our town swimming pool. It's an old stone quarry that's been redone over the years. I don't know how much longer it will be around. But for me and the kids, the sand and the sun is pure bliss on a hot day.
I looked up yesterday to see Izzy on the center island dancing to "I Gotta Feeling." There she was oblivious to the world, dancing away in her swimsuit. She told me later that she gets nervous swimming if there isn't any music playing. :)
This year I have the added bonus of four swimmers. Makes it all a little more relaxing and enjoyable....
Love the quote, it is too cute! Hopefully the Quarry will remain for a very long time and you and your children will build many memories from your years of swimming there.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous weekend!

I can just see Thurgood saying that in a few years. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the Quarry. I do hope it stays alive and well for your family. I would have LOVED that as a child. I can only imagine how much fun it is for yours.
Have a wonderful day my dear!
Cheers~

Julie, I'm so glad I found you! I, too, repurpose with a purpose. I think we may be sharing some fabulous ideas.
ReplyDeleteCracking up. My kids are seasoned trahpickers, and only one gets testy when I ask her to give up her seat for a roadside treasure...
ReplyDeleteThe Quarry looks like a fun place to go! I love water parks like that. Good luck with the treasure hunting!
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought you were describing our house, then I realized it was curbside discards!
ReplyDeleteHope your summer is a little less junk-filled on the inside and successful at the curb!
Looks like a great place to spend the summer days.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the night
That's hysterical. My two daughters on a Saturday morning, will look up at me (I have keys in my hand) and announce to the world "Looks like we're off to the garage sales". Gotta love kids for keeping it real.
ReplyDeleteGreat quote! Love the things kids come up with. It doesn't stop though. My darling step daughter overheard me fussing about the utility company's shenanigans...again.. and pronounced in her all knowing 17 year old voice... "Sandy's fierce! I'm not getting on her bad side" She is adorable, even at 17!
ReplyDeletegosh how nice it would be to have that where I live....
