Just Call Me Rainbow Brite

Nothing like a little foil to brighten one's day....
Here I am, amused by my locks.
Things were going well at this point.
Three hours later I left the salon and burst into tears in the comfort of my minivan.

A cup of coffee.
A good read.
Hanging with a fun girl.

I do this twice a year.

It's a little red.
Rainbow Brite streaks.
Usual girl.
I think it will be ok in a few days.

The bigger problem was the haircut.
I'm getting it fixed on Monday.

My usual girl wasn't there.
I should have waited.
But today was wide open.
So...I took my chance with a new girl.

Simple instructions.
Basic clean it up hair cut.
Said it three times.
Tried to be patient.
Finally said, please stop cutting.
I've never said those three words before.
In the ten years I've visited this place it's always been a great experience.
I complained.
Not about the color...
just the cut.

The side tucked behind my shoulder is that way for a reason.
It's pretty lopsided.
I pointed it out several times.
Very nicely.
It kept getting worse.
One hour and twenty minutes sitting in the chair.
That wasn't including the color, or the shampoo.
She even left me there for a bit.
Not sure where she wandered off to!

So...we'll see what Monday brings.
Tomorrow is our family picture.
I'll either wear a hat or push it over my shoulder.

Oh well, it's only hair.
Feel better now that I've shared about my day....
The 80's are coming around again.
Maybe Rainbow Brite is really in.

  1. Wow, you are so contained!
If this had happened to me I don't think that I could be so reasonable.
I hope that it all turns out for the best next week.

  2. You are such an amazing person. I have cried while IN the seat. Why don't they listen? Why don't they see the tears? Oh my poor friend...I only wish I would have been there in the salon with you -- I could have been THAT girl for you with the stylist. Everyone needs a friend who can turn into THAT girl for their friend in need.

Glad you have a game plan.....but you know where I am if you need me.

  3. Well you look great to me! From one red head to another!

  4. I am always switching up my hair color, but believe me, there have been tears. Pleadings to fix it. Hang in there, you'll be a new woman all over again on Monday.

  5. First of all I just have to say that I think you look fab. I do know how you feel though. I've felt the same way many times. I just don't get it...we pay them SO much money and still we walk away feeling not satisfied. Hope you're feeling better..

  6. You all are the sweetest. Thank you! I did wash it today. Two friends said the cut wasn't as shocking as the color....and they saw it after I had washed it! I think it will tone down a bit. I hope. The bangs are a serious mess. I pushed them to the side, and took some horrrific family photos for the church directory today. I had such a smirk on my face. Oh well. I'm going to get it evened out on Monday...and we'll see what the color looks like then too. It's only hair. Right?!

  7. I really like the color, it looks really pretty on you. I hope you get the cut the way you want it, show us a new picture won't you?

  8. Oh no! I've had this happen before... best of luck getting it alllll fixed, I'm sure it will look great!

  9. I'm so sorry! I think you look fabulous! So have you had it fixed yet, do you like it?
Thanks for the paint suggestion, I'm going to look for it today! Have a great Saturday!
